![]() It does a great job with effects, though. The program isn’t reliable enough to use with Layers. Stevie at customer support has made recommendations which don’t work. I’ve played with the System settings and even manually deleted the program several times in an effort to get it to work. It just won’t save changes about 80% of the time during export, when clicking on Done or when Stamping the layers. ![]() On1 has an issue retaining the “paint out” changes made to an Image layer at different opacities. My 2019 Mac has 40GB of RAM and 8GB of GPU memory and no trouble with any other graphics program. I’ve had nothing but trouble using Layers in on1 2020, 2021 and now with 2022. But - Its a major upgrade- worth every penny-and I am stoked. It doesnt work on all but for the ones I care about (Topaz,NiK,luminar) it completes a round trip seamlessly, without the hassles. Its not something couldnt do previously, but this uprade makes it easy. I have thought about timelapse and given the new took will give it a try. Previously I was concerned that I could lose work with a crash The backup addition is huge for me and allows we to start cataloging. This upgrade allows me to take pictures that previously would be unusable. I am an m43 shooter (G9) and not surprisingly have dealt with noise issues in low light. The noise reductions is remarkable and I went back and edited several Hi noise photos with amazing results. I spent a good part of today setting up the program to my liking and watching several youtube videos about haw to use the new features. I have been an on1 user for 3 or 4 years now and it is now the center of my workflow. So I have this new, great, wonderful, improved software that really does not meet my needs and I will just have to stay with PR 2021.5 until the time comes when they actually finish what they have started with the 2022 version. ![]() Really is odd to me that they would make this big release and not have a FULLY workable product versus the standalone version I now have. So for me the jury is still out on this version mainly because I no longer will have access from within Photoshop to use the program via plugins and for me the idea of running back and forth between two different programs trying to get done what I want to accomplish is not something I will enjoy doing and most likely will not do until they get their act together with a set of plugins that you can download and install in Photoshop. There is some type of a plugin in the 2022 download for Lightroom but since I have never used or downloaded Lightroom I have no idea as to how it works or what the plugin makes available for use. What I have found is that even if you buy the package, the plugins are not ready for prime time and do not seem to be downloadable into PR 2022 at this time (sort of a like a pre-order situation right now). No plugins are provided in this new version, you will need to purchase each individual plugin or purchase what they call their professional package. This is something I will have to look harder at in the future.īe aware that when you get the new PR 2022 it will no longer run via a plugin from within Photoshop. On the few images I have tried so far, which have not had much noise to begin with, I have not seen what I would call any significant change thus far. The new software seems to run a little faster than the previous version, the sky replacement feature seems to be ok while their claim that the noise reduction process has been vastly improved I have still found that not quite up to what I expected. Installation was smooth and left the PR 2021.5 in place which as it turns out was a good thing. I have been using ON1 products for many years and as a grandfathered Plus Pro member received the full ON1 Photo Raw 2022 package for no additional charge.
